Guides & Resources

How much does it cost?

One flat fee per page. Pay by card or crypto. No surprises, no subscriptions, and a full refund if delivery fails.

One price, everywhere

Sending a fax with unofax costs a flat rate per page, regardless of where you are sending it. A fax to Japan costs the same as a fax to Germany, Spain, Australia, or any of our 45+ supported destinations.

There is no tiered pricing, no per-country surcharge, and no price that changes based on the time of day or how many faxes you have sent before. One page is one flat rate. Ten pages is ten times that rate. That is the entire pricing model.

We chose a flat rate because fax pricing should not require a calculator. You know the page count before you pay, and you know exactly what you will be charged. The price shown on the confirmation screen is the price you pay. Nothing more.

Card payments: $0.29 AUD per page. unofax is an Australian company and card transactions are processed in AUD at $0.29 per page. Where possible we display the per-page price in your local currency for convenience, converted from the AUD source rate. Your bank bills you in AUD using its own exchange rate at the time of payment, which may differ slightly from the converted display amount and may include a foreign currency conversion fee (typically 1–3%, set by your bank, not by unofax). Check with your card issuer if you are unsure.

Crypto payments (x402): $0.20 USDC per page. You can also pay with stablecoins via the x402 protocol. The per-page price for x402 payments is $0.20 USDC. No account or API key is required — just a crypto wallet. There are no gas fees for buyers; the x402 protocol uses off-chain signing so you only pay the per-page price. See our x402 page for full details and API documentation.

What's included

Every fax you send through unofax includes the following at no extra cost:

  • Free cover sheet: the optional cover sheet is added as a separate page and is always free. It does not count towards your per-page cost, no matter how many faxes you send.
  • Fine-mode transmission: unofax always sends at 204 × 196 DPI (Fine mode), the highest resolution supported by fax machines. Other services sometimes charge extra for this. We include it by default because there is no good reason to send a blurry fax.
  • Automatic retries: if the recipient's line is busy or does not answer, unofax retries automatically. You are not charged extra for retries. If the fax ultimately cannot be delivered, you are refunded in full.
  • Full preview before payment: you see every page exactly as the recipient will receive it before you pay. No charge is made until you confirm.

Full refund if delivery fails

You should only pay for a fax that actually gets delivered. That is the principle behind our refund policy:

  • Automatic and immediate: if your fax cannot be delivered after all retry attempts, the charge is reversed automatically. You do not need to submit a request, fill out a form, or contact support.
  • Back to your original payment method: whether you paid by Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Apple Pay, or Google Pay, the refund goes back to the same method. Most refunds appear within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank.
  • Clear boundaries: refunds apply when the recipient's fax machine does not successfully receive the transmission. They do not apply when the fax was delivered but you entered the wrong number, sent the wrong document, or changed your mind after delivery. Billing disputes must be raised within 30 days at support@unofax.com.

For card payments, we process refunds through Square, the same payment platform that handles the original charge. For x402 payments, refunds are sent as a USDC transfer to the wallet that made the original payment, typically within 24 hours of delivery failure confirmation. In both cases, the refund is never a manual decision. It is triggered automatically when our system confirms that delivery failed.

No hidden fees

Online services have a reputation for hiding costs behind asterisks and fine print. We want to be explicit about what unofax does not charge for:

No account or subscription fee: there is no monthly plan, no annual contract, and no registration required.
No setup fee: your first fax costs the same as your hundredth.
No per-country surcharge: Japan, Germany, Australia, the United States. Same rate.
No scheduling surcharge: sending a fax now or scheduling it for later costs the same.
No minimum charge: there is no minimum order. A single one-page fax is perfectly fine.
No retry fee: if the line is busy and we retry, you pay nothing extra.

The only thing you pay for is the number of document pages in your fax — $0.29 AUD per page by card, or $0.20 USDC per page via x402. There are no gas fees for x402 buyers.

Common questions

Quick answers about pricing and refunds:

  • Why is the per-page price shown in my local currency?: For card payments, unofax is an Australian company and bills in AUD at $0.29 per page. For convenience we display the per-page price in your local currency, converted from the AUD source rate at recent exchange rates. The amount your bank actually charges may differ slightly because your bank uses its own exchange rate at the moment of payment. For reference, $0.29 AUD is roughly €0.17 EUR, ¥28 JPY, $0.19 USD, or ₩255 KRW. If you pay via x402, the price is $0.20 USDC per page with no currency conversion involved.
  • How many pages will my document be?: after you upload your file, unofax converts it to fax format and shows you the exact page count and estimated cost before you pay. The final price is confirmed after conversion, so you always know the total before proceeding.
  • Does the cover sheet count as a billable page?: No. The cover sheet is always free and does not count towards your per-page cost.
  • Can I get a receipt?: The payment confirmation screen and delivery status email serve as your receipt. The charge also appears on your card statement as a transaction from Square (our payment processor).
  • What if I need to send a lot of pages?: The flat rate applies to every page, so a 50-page fax costs 50 × $0.29 = $14.50 AUD by card, or 50 × $0.20 = $10.00 USDC via x402. The maximum is 300 pages per fax. If your document is longer, split it into separate transmissions.
