Does the cover sheet cost extra?

No. The cover sheet is always free of charge, regardless of destination. It is added as an extra page and does not count towards your per-page cost.

Are all cover sheet fields required?

No. Every field is optional. Fill in as much or as little as you need. The date, recipient fax number, and page count are added automatically.

Can I send a fax to a toll-free number?

Yes. unofax supports sending faxes to toll-free numbers (e.g. 1800, 0800, 0120) in all supported countries. Simply enter the toll-free number as you would any other fax number.

If your fax fails to deliver, the charge is automatically refunded to your original payment method. Refunds typically appear within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank or card issuer. Is there a file size or page limit?

Yes. The maximum file size is 100 MB and the maximum document length is 300 pages per fax. These limits accommodate the vast majority of business documents. If your document exceeds either limit, consider splitting it into smaller parts and sending them as separate faxes.

Can I preview my fax before paying?

Yes. After you upload your document, unofax converts it to fax format and displays a full preview of every page, including the cover sheet, if you added one. You can review the exact output the recipient will receive before proceeding to payment. No charge is made until you confirm.

What happens if the recipient’s fax machine is busy or turned off?

If the recipient’s line is busy or unavailable, our system automatically retries delivery multiple times over a period of several minutes. If the fax still cannot be delivered after all retry attempts have been exhausted, the transmission is marked as failed and your payment is automatically refunded in full.

Fax machines support two resolution modes: Standard (204 × 98 DPI) and Fine (204 × 196 DPI). Fine mode produces sharper text and images with double the vertical resolution. unofax always sends in Fine mode to ensure the best possible print quality on the recipient's machine.

Do I have to wait for the fax to finish sending after payment?

No. Once payment is confirmed, your fax is queued and sent automatically in the background. You can safely close the page. You'll receive a delivery status update by email when the fax is complete. You can also check the status anytime under Recent Faxes on the home page.

How much does it cost to send a fax?

Sending a fax costs a flat rate of {{price}} per page, regardless of destination. The optional cover sheet is always free and does not count towards your page cost. Prices shown in your local currency are converted from $0.29 AUD; your card is billed in AUD and your bank's exchange rate applies at checkout. There are no hidden fees, subscriptions, or minimum charges.

How do I enter an international fax number?

First, select the destination country. The country code is added automatically. Then enter the local number without the leading 0 used for domestic calls. For example, for a Tokyo number you would select Japan and enter 3 1234 5678. unofax validates the number before you proceed and will let you know if the format is incorrect.

Are faxes sent in colour or black and white?

Fax technology transmits in black and white only. If you upload a colour document, it is automatically converted to greyscale during processing. For best results, ensure your text has good contrast against the background. You can check exactly how the recipient will see your fax in the preview before paying.

Can I get a receipt or proof of delivery?

Yes. After your fax is sent, the delivery status is shown on screen and recorded in the Recent Faxes section on the home page. You will also receive an email confirmation with the delivery result. This email and on-screen status can serve as proof of transmission for your records.

Can I schedule a fax to be sent later?

Yes, unlike most online fax services, unofax lets you schedule faxes for a specific date and time, up to 7 days in advance. Simply select "Schedule for later" when composing your fax. After payment, your fax is queued and sent automatically at the scheduled time. A delivery status update will be sent to your email and shown under Recent Faxes.

Can I cancel a scheduled fax?

Yes. Email support@unofax.com with your file name and fax number. Cancellation is available on a best-efforts basis and depends on how close the request is to the scheduled send time. If we are able to cancel the fax before sending begins, a full refund will be issued automatically.
