Why multilingual cover sheets?

Faxes cross borders every day. When a cover sheet arrives in your recipient's language, it signals professionalism and makes it easy for office staff to route the fax to the right person.

What gets translated?

When you select a language, the following elements on the cover sheet are automatically translated:

• Header: the FAX title and Date/Pages labels
• FROM / TO headings and field labels (Name, Company, Phone, Fax, Email)
• RE (Subject) and MESSAGE headings
• Urgency levels: Normal, Urgent, Confidential, For Review
• Date format: adjusts to the locale (e.g. 24/02/2026 vs 2026年2月24日)
• User-entered content stays as-is: names, company, subject, and message are never modified

Language-by-language reference

Here is a quick reference for how key labels appear in each language.

In German (Deutsch), headings become VON / AN, fields show Datum, Seiten, Firma, Telefon, and urgency levels are Normal, Dringend, Vertraulich, Zur Durchsicht.

In Japanese (日本語), the title becomes FAX送付状, headings are 差出人 / 宛先, fields show 日付, ページ数, 会社名, 電話番号, and urgency levels are 通常, 至急, 親展, 要確認.

In Spanish (Español), headings become DE / PARA, fields show Fecha, Páginas, Empresa, Teléfono, and urgency levels are Normal, Urgente, Confidencial, Para revisión.

In French (Français), headings become DE / À, fields show Date, Pages, Société, Téléphone, and urgency levels are Normal, Urgent, Confidentiel, Pour examen.

In Chinese Traditional (中文繁體), the title becomes 傳真, headings are 寄件人 / 收件人, fields show 日期, 頁數, 公司, 電話, and urgency levels are 一般, 緊急, 機密, 待審閱.

In Chinese Simplified (中文简体), the title becomes 传真, headings are 发件人 / 收件人, fields show 日期, 页数, 公司, 电话, and urgency levels are 普通, 紧急, 机密, 待审阅.

In Swedish (Svenska), headings become FRÅN / TILL, fields show Datum, Sidor, Företag, Telefon, and urgency levels are Normal, Brådskande, Konfidentiellt, För granskning.

In Dutch (Nederlands), headings become VAN / AAN, fields show Datum, Pagina's, Bedrijf, Telefoon, and urgency levels are Normaal, Spoed, Vertrouwelijk, Ter beoordeling.

In Italian (Italiano), headings become DA / A, fields show Data, Pagine, Azienda, Telefono, and urgency levels are Normale, Urgente, Riservato, Da visionare.

In Korean (한국어), the title becomes 팩스, headings are 발신인 / 수신인, fields show 날짜, 페이지, 회사, 전화번호, and urgency levels are 일반, 긴급, 기밀, 검토 요망.

How to choose a language

Selecting a cover sheet language takes just a few seconds:

• Tick "Add cover sheet" when composing your fax
• Find the Language dropdown below the cover sheet fields
• Select the language you want. The preview updates automatically
• The date format also changes to match the locale (e.g. 24/02/2026, 2026年2月24日, or 02/24/2026 for US English)

Tips for choosing the right language

Not sure which language to pick? Here are a few guidelines:

• Match the recipient's country or language: if you're faxing to Germany, choose Deutsch; for Japan, choose 日本語
• When in doubt, use English: it is widely understood in international business
• Consider CJK for East Asian recipients: Japanese, Chinese Traditional/Simplified, and Korean cover sheets make a strong impression in Asia
• Cover sheet language is independent of the UI: you can browse unofax in English and still send a cover sheet in French or Korean
